Certified Mentor Coaching

Are you a Coach working toward an ACC or PCC credential through the International coaching federation, OR would like to improve your coaching skills? Then mentor coaching is for you, in a group and/or Individual setting.

Join us for The next group mentoring series starting March 28, 2024, 8:30 - 10 am Eastern. See full details below.

Monica Leggett, PCC, and Dina Markind, PCC each have more than twelve years of experience coaching clients and are Certified Mentor Coaches to help the next generation of coaches. We have partnered to offer group mentor coaching and are also available for private mentoring.

Each Spring and Fall, we will offer a Group Mentor Coaching Class for coaches with at least 1-2 years of experience. If you want more information or to initiate private mentor coaching sessions, please reach out to one of us. Before you do that, we ask you to read the following information about the process:

After you complete coach training and depending on what program you’ve taken, you may need or want to enroll in Mentor Coaching.

What will you get out of Mentor Coaching?

  1. A deeper understanding of the 8 Core Competencies of Coaching, as newly updated by the International Coaching Federation.

    • Demonstrates Ethical Practice

    • Embodies a Coaching Mindset

    • Establishes and Maintains Agreements

    • Cultivates Trust and Safety

    • Maintains Presence

    • Listens Actively

    • Evokes Awareness

    • Facilitates Client Growth

  2. 7 to 10 hours of Coach-Specific Continuing Education Credits (CCEUs) toward your requirement to get your ACC credential or renewal.
(Mentor Coaching in a group setting can total 7 hours, with the balance required as three hours of 1-on-1 mentoring with a review of your pre-recorded coaching sessions.)

  3. Preparation to submit a recorded session(s) for evaluation for your International Coaching Federation Credential if required.

  4. The opportunity to coach and be coached in a small-group, safe, and informative environment and receive immediate feedback to grow your coaching skills.

  5. A refreshed approach to your coaching. Past participants have all expressed that what they thought might have been a dry review of the core competencies revived their love of the coaching process and gave them new insights to improve their impact on clients.

  6. Lastly, you’ll have a mentor to ask questions and make the process feel safe, fun, and achievable.

Requirements: Participants will already be graduates of an accredited coaching training program.
All participants must have at least 1-2 years of experience and a minimum of 75 hours of coaching with clients.

What to expect: Session one will focus on getting to know one another, review of the program, and overall core competency discussion with emphasis on Core Competencies #3, Establish and Maintains Agreement. There will be a brief coaching/mentoring session. The following 4 sessions will have a mixture of instruction and discussion for 1 or 2 additional Core Competencies and then live coaching opportunities to be followed by feedback.

The coaching pairs will be set up at the beginning of the program. Each person will know when they’ll coach and when they’ll be a client. When you are a client, please be sure to come prepared with an actual issue that you would like to have coaching around.
